:bulletpurple: Mez's Gets Personal :bulletpurple:

Well as some of you may or may not know, I have a lot going on in my life rigth now. I just moved again, started and new job, and am living with my mom. I do not have internet connection to my PC only my mom's, and well her's sucks, i am not able to do every thing i would like to be able to do with the club right now. But hopefully soon i can get it all figured out. Right now my biggest fear is that i might have to end up closing the club once i move again in to my own house. It might be 1-2 months before i can get internet connection. I really would hate to close the club. Any way blah blah blah ..... I guess what i am trying to say is that i am going to need some admins, someone that can help me now, and then run the club in my absents. If you think you can help in any way please let me know.

much love

The Art Of Coping
Laying awake in this warm bed of mine
While everyone sleeps, my light it still shines
I open my drawer to get my art supplies
I cover my mouth, to muffle my cries
My leg is my canvas
My blood is my paint
My razor's my brush
My inspiration is hate
With little hesitation, I pull out my brush
and with the first stroke my leg starts to gush
Dripping off the canvas, my paint hits the sheets
I dab it with tissues as my canvas still bleeds
Sooner or later I'll have to retire
As my family and friends will begin to inquire.
But until then, I will hold my blade high
and if I am questioned I simply will lie
No person, no place can keep me from this art
Cause this is how I mend my own damaged heart.
Orange Sky by invayne666 by Lucid-Dreamers Monsteradicate by invayne666
Monsteradicate
finger down my throat to
rid me of
whats built up
inside
a jagged finger
fucking my tonsils
to deride the creature thats
pent up in it its
habitat of my stomach
I cannot
stomach
this ingrown virus
thats cannibalizing
my substance
grinding its nails and ivory
teeth
against my linings
it desecrates
and
blindfolds
my every sense
filtering all
that enters and
transits
directing every process towards
this pit
this bridge is falling down
soon trapped in
my labyrinth
these walls don't
end
these walls
they won't end
can you believe
that these walls
won't ever
ever
end?

:bulletpurple: Lucid-Dreamers Would like you to meet Akiora :bulletpurple:

:iconakiora:

Simply put, lucid dreaming fascinates me.  I do have lucid dreamers from time to time, but it's not a regular occurence.  I don't know whether it's some bad sign of my mental insecurities or not, but it seems that most of my lucid dreams are nightmarish in nature.  There's always a point where I lose control, and then things unfold on their own...usually not to my liking :(
In a somewhat related way, I tend to experience a phenomenon known as sleep paralysis.  Follow the link to read up ;)

Besides these dream-related things, I have some really random interests.  I'm a huge film junkie...and I'm into cinematography and directing.  I'm into music as well, mostly alternative these days.  Also, I'm kind of tech-oriented.  Eh...what else...metaphysics and religious philosophy...skiing...so random...

I know this is really long, and bless you if you've bothered to read it all, but I'll cap up with a list of people I'd like to meet...I think that says a lot about a person:
Seth Morrisson, Clint Eastwood, Francis Drake, Chris Kattan, Akira Kurosawa, Conan, Christopher Walken, Lewis Carroll, Dante, Sean Penn, Kant, Quentin Tarantino, Seth Meyers, Tim Burton, Sid Meier, Robert Rodriguez, Johnny Depp, Rasputin, Stephen Chow, Pep Fujas, Ray Bradbury, Hunter S. Thompson, Faulkner, CS Lewis, Glenn Plake, Stephen King, Omar Rodriguez, Bob Burnquist, T.C. May, and Mr. T.

Okay...I'm done now.  You have a patience worthy beyond words, thanks for sticking through!

-Akiora

:bulletpurple: Lucid-Dreamers Would like you to meet wolfmorphine :bulletpurple:

:iconwolfmorphine:

My real name is Shannon. I was born in Heidelberg, Germany into a military family, so I've been all over the world from my earliest day really. I think that the constant moving and exposure to different areas and people is what gave birth to my great interest in different cultures and religions, both living and dead, which is at the root of my inspiration for a lot of my art. My father retired from the military when I was nine and we were living in California, so I suppose if anywhere, that would be where I consider myself to be from though I now reside in Connecticut.

I have been writing and painting since I was very young, so I was artistic from the very beginning.  For me, a piece of art is so much more than just something beautiful to look upon or pleasant to read. It's an important part of how I express myself, as well as how I unwind or organize my thoughts.  If something I have created inspires someone else, or brings a bit of beauty to their corner of the world, then so much the better.

The first medium I became comfortable with, and developed an affinity for, was graphite, and I still work in graphite often, especially to work out new ideas or begin illustrations. Later on I developed a taste for painting, specifically watercolors and oils, and just recently I have been learning more about digital painting and have really taken a liking to it. The bulk of my work these days has been created in this manner. Rather ironic since I am a self-proclaimed techno-phobe, no? In addition to my visual works, I also enjoy writing poetry and short pieces of prose. It is not unusual for me to take a really good idea and run with it, starting perhaps with a short story, or a series of them, and following up with some matching illustrations.

FAQ

4 min read
:bulletpurple: Welcome to the Questions and Answers :bulletpurple:

This is designed to help with your Lucid Dreaming, I know many people in this club are very intersted in Lucid Dreaming. Well thanks to a110100 we now have some basics to help you along the way.

If you have any questions that are not found here fell free to ask them and Jeffery will get back to you as soon as he can... also look foward to new fourm topic in the near future .

Q. What is MILD

A. MILD stands for Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams. Basically a technique used when you interrupt yourself to think about lucid dreaming during the day so that you might dream about yourself doing the exact same action in your dream to remind yourself to become aware of the dream. Ideas like everytime you see the color red(or any other color) you consciously think about if you are dreaming or not.

Q What is WILD

A. WILD stands for Wake Induced Lucid Dreams. A technique that is very rewarding when achieved and requires the ability to control your own calmness, stay focused, and to stay conscious while falling asleep. You stay conscious while your body falls asleep so that you might enter the the dream world lucid from the very beginning.

Q. Is lucid dreaming natural?

A. Some people are able to lucid dream as far as they could remember. Some people have actually aquired lucid dreaming through drugs. I believe lucid dreaming is a charecteristic of humans that does come naturally to some people and to most of us, comes with practice and intent.

Q. Is lucid dreaming harmful?

A. Most people who lucid dream have claimed while experiencing a lucid dream have a very positive experience, and others have had an occasional "lucid nightmare" where emotions are intense and the experience is fearful. Usually all lucid dream experiences are seen beneficial in some way no matter what happened during the exerience. As of physical harm, carrying through from the lucid dream to the waking state, is not possible.

Q. Is the time spent in a lucid dream relative to the time spent sleeping?

A. The Time that was "felt" spent in the lucid dream varies form person to person. Sometimes for some people it might have felt like they lucid dreamed for fifteen minutes but they slept all night. Several occasions people will feel like they experienced several days in the a lucid dream and they only slept a couple hours.

Q. Are there ways to prolong the lucid dream?

A. There are several techniques are very challanging and some very simple. There are some techniques published in books, mainly the spinning technique, where you spin yourself in the dream and instead of becoming dizzy a new dream will begin. The challange in spinning takes some getting used, you have to be able to have enough focus to remember that you are in a lucid dream. Another technique is to rub your hands together palm to palm. The other common technique is to simply will yourself to not end the lucid dream.

Q. Why lucid dream?

A. Just about anything imaginable is possible in the lucid dream. Isn't it just a wonder to know what it would be like to experience the situation of becoming conscious in a dream? Naturaly most people first think of flying or running or jumping or breathing underwater, or exeriencing a fantasy. The idea of enjoying ourselves in any situation is a drive for most people who strive to lucid dream the next time they fall asleep.

Q. Can anyone learn to become lucid in their dreams?

A. Lucid dreaming is a common charecteristic to the human individual. There are several people that claim they do not dream and if they dream, they only dream once every two weeks. The fact that we sometimes forget our dreams is commonly misunderstood as not dremaing at all. As long as we enter in a theta state while dreaming or a R.E.M. stage, there is opportunity to dream, remember our dreams, and eventually become lucid in these dreams.
